PDF Annotator
Text, boxes and arrows
on any page of a PDF
Add text, rectangles, arrows, highlights and freehand marks to a PDF, in your browser. Text already in the PDF cannot be edited — this adds to a page, it does not rewrite it.

The document is annotated in this tab. It is not uploaded, and nothing about it or what you write on it is stored.
Once the marks are where you want them
A reviewed document is often sent on locked, so only the people it is for can open it.

Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?
No. This page adds to a page; it does not rewrite what is on it. You can put new text anywhere, and cover old text with a box or a highlight, but the old words stay in the file underneath.
Can the marks be moved or deleted later in Acrobat or Preview?
No. They are drawn into the page itself rather than added as comments, which is what makes them show and print the same in every reader. The cost is that no reader treats them as separate objects afterwards, so keep the original if you may want to change them.
Why are some of my letters refused?
Text is written in Helvetica, the font every PDF reader already has, and it covers English and Western European letters only. Turkish ş, ğ, İ and ı, and other alphabets, are outside it. The page names each letter it cannot write and saves nothing until they are changed, rather than leaving them out of your text.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The document is drawn, marked and saved in this tab, and read back here before the download. Nothing is sent to a server.
