Questions

What size does this make, and can I change it?

One size: 1200×630. There is no size picker, and that is a decision rather than a missing feature — a second size would have to come from a published table for the platform it is for, and this page does not have one to show you. One card at the size a shared link is rendered at is what it can honestly offer.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The resizing runs in your browser, in a WebAssembly build of the same image engine a server would use, so the file is read, resized and downloaded on your own machine. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is nothing to delete afterwards.

PNG, WebP or JPEG — which one?

WebP if you are unsure: it keeps transparency at a fraction of PNG’s size and every current platform reads it. PNG if you need lossless. JPEG is the smallest and has no transparency at all, so anything see-through is painted over with the colour you pick. The byte count under the card moves the moment you switch, so you can compare rather than guess.

What if my image is smaller than 1200×630?

It is enlarged, and the page says so underneath the result rather than letting you find out when it is published. An SVG is exempt: it is drawn at full size rather than stretched, so it has nothing to lose.
